Christie van der Haak in Wolfsonian Museum Miami

The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami presents the exhibition Modern Dutch Design (1890-1940) from 18 November 2016 through 11 June 2017. Dutch contemporary artist Christie van der Haak (1950) has been invited to cover the facade and lobby of the museum with her pattern designs.

Her colourful, exuberant patterns and structures will cover the outer walls of the building as well as the lobby of the museum. The Wolfsonian sees this mega-project as a link up of contemporary design with the innovative designs from the period 1890-1940, in particular Art Nouveau and the Amsterdamse School art deco style. Christie van der Haak is the first contemporary artist to exhibit in the Wolfsonian.
