Karin van Dam (1959) participates in the IJssel Biënnale which takes place at various locations in the valley of the river IJssel in The Netherlands.

The Biënnale’s title Grondtonen (Keynotes, literally gound tones) refers to our relationship with soil, earth, ground and nature in general.

Karin van Dam created the work Unsinkable, a raft made of bamboo with black buoys and textile circles on top, a symbolic rescue vessel for impending floods caused by climate change.
