The exhibition pairs Jarram\u2019s watercolours and work on paper of refugees and migrants with the expressionist paintings by Henk Chabot (1894\u20131949), depicting refugees and displaced persons during the Second World War.<\/p>\n<p>Both artists demonstrate a profound concern for the vulnerable fellow human being, as well as for issues of identity, injustice, freedom, and human dignity. Although Jarram was barely familiar with Chabot\u2019s work, the similarities in their style, composition, and subject matter are striking.
