Susanna Inglada at St. Denijs City

 

 

The second edition of St. Denijs City focuses on the relationship between the countryside and the city. Forty-two international artists exhibit their work in the public spaces, homes, farms, the church, and surrounding meadows of the municipality of Sint Denijs/Zwevegem, near Kortrijk, Belgium. At the request of curator Jan Denijs, Susanna Inglada (1983) created a spatial work titled Up There, Down There, which consists of two pairs of faces encasing a slide. With the work, Inglada aims to invite children and adults to play and engage in dialogue, to break through the polarization in our society caused by current international crisis and war. The work is located on the lawn behind the church in the village center, the ticket and information desk is also located here.
