
Susanna Inglada in Fantastic Beings
The exhibition Fantastic Beings at Museum van Bommel shows works by contemporary artists that are inspired by myths and legends. The artworks show that mythical and archetypical figures are relevant in our time as well addressing subjects like identity, political and social dynamics in our society.
Susanna Inglada (1983) shows het textil sculpture Medusa from the colliection of Museum Het Valkhof Nijmegen. In it she reverses the negative image of the Medusa by emphasizing her tragic fate being condemned to an existance as a monster because of the jealousy of Pallas Athene.
The other participating artists are Jamel Armand, afra eisma, Alejandro Galván, Marianne van der Heijden, Camille Henrot, Hella Jongerius, Wouter Osterholt, Tanja Ritterbex, RojoNegro, Buhlebezwe Siwani, María Sosa, Nina van de Ven, Theresa Weber and Müge Yilmaz.
