Christie van der Haak: Nouveau Deco
Christie van der Haak (1950) has a solo exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Kampen entitled Nouveau Deco – every pattern has a meaning. A frieze of her patterns has been applied to the facade of the museum. The main hall and three rooms of the museum have been turned into a Gesamtkunstwerk displaying Christie van der Haak’s floor and wall coverings, chairs upholsterd with her fabrics, carpets, panels and glass vases. The facade of the former synagogue of Kampen has also been decorated with her patterns, Christie van der Haak’s studio has been transferred as it were to the inside the building, with a variety of fabrics, wall hangings, paintings, glassware, bowls, glassware and drawing designs.
