Susanna Inglada at La Casa Encendida in Madrid

As winner of the 2018 Generaciones Award, Susanna Inglada is participating in the group exhibition Where Will the Bird That Can’t Fly Go? at La Casa Encendida with her installation Bosque (Forest). The exhibition is part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Generaciones, the competition for young talents organised by Fundación Montemadrid. Inglada’s installation features several large hands intertwined in a firm grip, as if bound together—evoking the image of ancient, weathered trees. The title Bosque alludes to the forest as a metaphorical space for transformation and introspection, as well as for dialogue with others. Deeply personal, Bosque explores themes of transgenerational trauma and pain. The hands are based on photographs of Inglada’s family members taken during a reunion, reminiscent of gestures of connection, memory, and shared experience.

Bosque is on view until 27 July 2025 at La Casa Encendida in Madrid, Spain.
