At Art The Hague 2018 Galerie Maurits van de Laar shows new paintings by Andrea Freckmann. Some months ago she had a residency in Mallorca, the series of new works was started there. Erik Pape has new paintings form his series about the things and objects he observed on and around the Paris square of Place Stalingrad, his permanent subject over the past twenty years. Tobias Lengkeek has painted new small works belonging to his Debris and Alteration series in which he depicts objects and places that are in a state of transition.

The Art The Hague Drawings exhibiton gets a prominent place on the fair this edition. Director Axel Lemmens has asked me as a gallerist with an ongoing focus on drawings to curate this exhibition. It consists of three parts:  drawings that have been proposed by galleries who participate in the fair, a presentation by Museum De Buitenplaats, Eelde and a contingent of drawings that has been selected by me. These works are mostly from young, promising artists like Cedric ter Bals, Romy Muijrers, Susana Inglada and Rik Smits.
