Nour-Eddine Jarram: Out of Poverty. Art, history and stories
Nour-Eddine Jarram (1956) is participating in a group exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. Through historical objects, art and portraits of the people of Schiedam, the exhibition Out of Poverty. Art, history and stories reveals in an unconventional and human way why, after centuries of combating poverty, it continues to exist in our prosperous society. The experience of poverty is also explored from an artistic perspective with relevant works from the museum’s collection. Nour-Eddine Jarram, whose work already features in the museum’s collection, is showing a series of over twenty watercolours about poverty then and now. The opther participating artists are: Maarten Bel, Koos Buster, Chantal van Heeswijk, HIMMELSBACH en Studio Nadia Nena.
