Through the years a gallery follows the developments of its artists and seeks out new talent. In doing so, it sets out a recognizable trail for its public. Twenty-five years ago Galerie Maurits van de Laar started out on the Westeinde in The Hague. Artists from those early days, including Robine Clignett, Diederik Gerlach, Marcel van Eeden and Erik Pape, are still represented by the gallery today. Personal commitment, emotion and an inner necessity to go against the grain are important in the work of the artists. That line is visible in the anniversary exhibition Track and Trace that takes place in the former GEMAK building located close to the gallery, at Paviljoensgracht 20, The Hague.

Participating artists are:
Martin Assig, Frank Van den Broeck, Jan Brokof, Seekee Chung, Elsbeth Ciesluk, Robine Clignett, Robbie Cornelissen, Karin van Dam, Marcel van Eeden, Nare Eloyan, Martin Fenne, Andrea Freckmann, Tobias Gerber, Diederik Gerlach, Christie van der Haak, Ingrid van der Hoeven, Henri Jacobs, Nour-Eddine Jarram, Pascale-Sophie Kaparis, Stan Klamer, Tobias Lengkeek, Heidi Linck, Dieter Mammel, Marjolijn van der Meij, Jos de l’Orme, Erik Pape, Urs Pfannenmüller, Ed Pien, Zeger Reyers, Sebastiaan Schlicher, Elmar Trenkwalder, Ronald Versloot, Justin Wijers, Dirk Zoete.
