Christie van der Haak in Cacaofabriek Helmond

Christie van der Haak (1950) takes part in the exhibition Always in the Now at the Cacaofabriek Helmond, which examines the development of artists who have already built a long career. Curator Ber Loerakker selected six artists who work in different disciplines. Christie van der Haak chose an older painting inspired by the resurrection of Christ in Grünewald’s Isenheimer altar. She placed the work suspended in an installation with high rising ornamental patterns, which give the the impression the painting is ascending in the exhibition space.

The exhibition is partially inspired by Leo Delfgaauw’s dissertation Every step is a next and the accompanying Mondriaan essay Old Masters, about visual artists and aging.

Participating besides Christie van der Haak are: Johan Claassen, Jan van Duynhoven, Ria van Eyk, Corry van Hoof, Theo Kuijpers, Guido Lippens and Lydia Schouten.
