Due to corona measures Drawing Now was postponed to exactly the same week as Art Rotterdam, having chosen for the Parisian drawing fair the gallery will therefore be absent at Art Rotterdam 2022.

In Stand B5 Galerie Maurits van de Laar will present the large collage work Turn the Tables by Susanna Inglada (1983) along with a few smaller drawings. Dan Zhu (1985) shows three new works on paper interweaving floral and insect motives, Nour-Eddine Jarram (1956) shows watercolours in which he interprets old masters such as Frans Hals and portrays migrants and refugees. Robbie Cornelissen (1954) shows his latest animation Terra Nova, which can also be seen in Venice parallel to the Biennale, in an exhibition of Galerie Art Mûr in the Giudecca art District.
Focus Artist is Stan Klamer (1951) who shows a series of his cartographic drawings that contain a wide variety of boats and ships, but also more abstract works in which he starts from a random stain of ink or watercolour. He then carries on by meticulously drawing around it in an almost meditative mode.

Drawing Now enters its 15th edition and will be held this year again at the Carreau du Temple, close to the Place de la Republique. 72 galleries from France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain are participating in the fair.

In the basement of the Carreau du Temple are the departments Insight and Process with a focus on the more experimental drawing. The General section on the ground floor contains 56 stands, each gallery has a focus artist who gets a third of the booth. During the fair, the Prix de Dessin will be awarded and there will be artist talks led by artistic director Joana P. R. Neves.

Drawing Now coincides with the Printemps du Dessin in which museums and institutions in Paris and France pay extra attention to drawing. The Salon du Dessin in the Palais Brongniart in Paris runs paralelly with drawings by old and classic modern masters. Here the Prix Guerlain will also be awarded, this year Chloë Piene, Olga Chernysheva and Gert & Uwe Tobias have been nominated.
