Artsfestival WATOU 2019

Zeger Reyers

installation

29 june – 1 September 2019

Zeger Reyers (1966) participates in the 39th edition of the Watou Artsfestival in Belgium. The title of the festival is Saudade – Nothing exists that doesn’t touch anything else. This refers to the Portuguese concept of Saudade, which stands for desire and melancholy and to the fact that our lives are interwoven with random encounters that may be casual but nevertheless important. In the Douviehoeve just outside the village, Zeger Reyers  realizes a large installation with mushrooms on black soil entitled Behind the Wall, The Landscape. It is a rerprise of the Pavillion installation that Zeger Reyers made in 2010 in the Renaat Braempaviljoen of the Middelheim Museum Antwerp.
