Karin van Dam

At BIG ART no 5 Karin van Dam shows the work Lichen. Karin van Dam developed the work in the Textile Museum Tilburg, NL where it was knitted in a special technique with monofilement (nylon) and wool. Lichen is a moss that grows in circles on rocks in northern countries. The structure of the woven fabric has an almost technological look, creating a tension in the work between the organic overlapping circles and the high-tech appearance of the material.
