Paul van der Eerden (1954) and Romy Muijrers (1990) started their collaborative project ‘Suite’ in 2018. One of them starts with a first outline or stain on the paper that is elaborated upon by the other in several sessions, until the drawing is completed.
In the online edition of Drawing Room Lisoba fair Galerie Maurits van de Laar presents works by Martin Assig, Susanna Inglada and Dirk Zoete.
Animals play a key role in the work of Andrea Freckmann (1970) and Peter Vos (1975). In her fluent, yet accurate style, Andrea Freckmann paints dogs and birds and places them in domestic environments. Peter Vos, on the other hand, isolates his moths and birds against a neutral background.
Charlotte Schleiffert (1967) and Susanna Inglada (1983) had a residency abroad that gave their work a new impulse. In 2019 Charlotte Schleiffert made a series of drawings in Paris parks, nature thus takes center stage in her work. During the past months, Susanna Inglada stayed in Rome directly before and during lockdown, where she studied the classics and baroque art.
Drawing Now Paris art fair has been postponed to March 2021. Instead Martin Assig and Ronald Versloot will now show their drawings in the gallery. Tobias Gerber and the young chinese talent Dan Zhu are the other artists in this drawing exhibition.
In Different than Usual, Christie van der Haak (1950) is consciously contradicting the traditional White Cube by setting up two u-shaped cabinets in the gallery and covering these in her outspoken patterns. On the walls are artworks by 16 invited artists that she admires and finds interesting.

The title of the exhibition is an ironic reference to the German ‘Kunsthalle’, a huge exhibition hangar where art has to comply with the vision of the curator. Diederik Gerlach (1956) and Tobias Gerber (1961) are in charge of their own Kunsthalle in the gallery.
